Elton's Jump Up! has always been to me a fun album. Other than the very heavy (and very good) Empty Garden, it's a light breezy album, kind of a mood picker-upper, at least for me. The only song I don't like is Blue Eyes, the tempo is draggy and the world "blue" is repeated so much it gets annoying/5(21).

May 27,  · 9. Where Have All The Good Times Gone All Quiet On The Western Front "Dear John" starts off with a "Saturday Night's Alright" drum shot and is a riff-laden, upbeat rocker, but is somewhat blighted, as many eighties recordings were, by synthesisers in the backing/5(71).

Sep 21,  · That said, sometimes albums have mismatched tracks and that is certainly the case with Elton John’s release, Jump Up! Much of Jump Up! is excellent, well except for the intro track, but more on that shortly. The album artwork is also permanently lodged in the 80s, but I think in some ways that is an appealing aspect.
